Why we love Green Smoothies!

Smoothies are one of my go-to meals/snacks!

Not only are they healthy, quick, and delicious, but they are also a great way to get in your daily servings of fruit and even veggies.

Ever since I started adding veggies (mostly green leafy vegetables) to my smoothies I highly prefer them over normal fruit-only smoothies; most veggies are easy to hide in smoothies because the fruit overpowers their less potent taste.

The below veggies are some of my favorites to add to green smoothies and are almost undetectable when fruit is also used:

  • Spinach
  • Zucchini
  • Cucumber
  • Kale

We love to grow spinach in our garden and it is my personal favorite to use in green smoothies.

Recently we also started growing zucchini and cucumber and also started adding them to our smoothies; the zucchini can sometimes be used to replace a banana or yogurt as a creamy smoothie base.
